As a direct import from international financial markets, where she invested in stocks, bonds and alternative assets, Sonja joined the Falkensteiner Ventures team in 2020. Sonja has a sense for the right opportunities at the right time, which she was able to demonstrate as a top-in-peergroup fund manager of an emerging market corporate fund, as well as in tactical and strategic asset allocation decisions covering all asset classes as part of her work as lead portfolio manager in one of the largest European family offices. The startup world, especially in the area of the main focus of Falkensteiner Ventures, is the next big opportunity that, in Sonja's opinion, should not be missed out: "Valuations are at the moment cheaper than ever and digitalization in the sector is still in its infancy, it’s time to get into the driving seat and accelerate innovation. Of course, there is probably no one better suited for this than the Falkensteiner Ventures team with their unique spirit, which impressed me from beginning, their expertise and international network. " Sonja is responsible for the risk-adjusted portfolio construction, optimization of KPIs of the portfolio companies as well as supporting them to more growth and success. Beyond that, Sonja is a doctoral candidate at the Institute for Entrepreneurship at the Vienna University of Economics and Business.
